APV Heating Services was contacted by a local builder who was constructing a new single-level home for his daughter to live in the future. As this was a brand-new build, it was essential that the heating system was efficient, future-proof, and designed to suit the property layout from the outset.
The entire property sits on one level, with wet underfloor heating installed throughout the ground floor. The builder wanted a renewable heating solution that would maximise efficiency, keep running costs low, and qualify for available government support.
Given the property layout and underfloor heating design, an air source heat pump was the ideal choice. Underfloor heating works exceptionally well with low flow temperatures, making it perfectly suited to heat pump technology.
Importantly, the builder had already planned ahead by allocating a purpose-built cupboard for the unvented hot water cylinder. This forward-thinking design made installation straightforward and ensured a neat, professional finish.
The system was smoothly installed, commissioned, and signed off, with careful attention to performance and compliance standards.
The project also qualified for the government’s £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) grant, significantly contributing towards the cost of the installation.
The completed property now benefits from:
The installation went seamlessly, and the builder was extremely pleased, both with the quality of the work and with securing the government grant support for the project.
