This Privacy Notice applies to information we collect about you when you interact with APV Heating Services, whether that be purchasing a service contract with us, taking out finance for a new boiler through our trusted partner, receiving offers from us or engaging with us as a trusted contractor. It explains what personal information may be collected and how we use it.
APV Heating Services is the trading name of Ashley Venton. A UK-based, gas-safe registered heating and boiler maintenance specialist with in excess of 20 years’ experience in the sector. We are committed to protecting data shared with us and complying with data protection law to its fullest extent. This Privacy Notice explains how we use and protect personal information, to show that we are adhering to the DPA 2018 and UK GDPR, and the Privacy and E-Communications Regulations in respect of marketing compliance.
The DPA 2018 and UK GDPR requires every organisation that processes personal information to be registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). The following sections explain the types of data we collect and the legal basis, under current data protection legislation, on which this data is processed. Most of the information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
Service enquiry - If you enquire about our installation and/ or maintenance services we will collect your name, email address, postal address, telephone number, and your message.
This will be collected either via the website, email or telephone depending on your preferred contact method. As it is necessary for us to collect that data to enable us to respond to your enquiry in the way you would expect we have a legitimate interest in processing that data. You can request for your information to be deleted at any time; however we might not be able to provide you with our services or a reply if you request deletion of your information.
Product or installation service purchase - If you purchase a boiler maintenance package or installation service from us, we will be entering into a contractual relationship with you, and this is our legal basis for processing your information. We will collect your details as above to enable us to fulfil our contractual obligations towards you. We also will process limited financial details for the purpose of invoicing and financial transactions.
After engaging our services, we may send you a short feedback form. The information you provide will only be used to improve our services and, where you have agreed, to promote our products and services to potential clients via our website and social media channels.
Becoming a sub-contractor to APV - if you become a sub-contractor to APV Heating Services, we will collect your name, contact details, NI Number, your bank details and UTR for payment and tax purposes. We will also collect confirmation of your academic qualifications and references.
Website traffic analytics - We use Google Analytics to monitor website traffic. This helps us understand how you interact with our website, measure the effectiveness of our website and improve user experience. When you accept cookies on our website you are consenting to the cookie being deployed. We consider it is our legitimate interest to understand the nature of your engagement if you accept cookies.

Gas Safe Register | Note: Whilst we do not share your name with the Gas Safe register, we do register your postal address, email address and mobile number with them for the purpose of recording maintenance action. This may mean that identifiable information is shared where your email address may identify you as an individual. | |
Boiler Manufacturers | Similarly, we share the same details with boiler manufacturers for the purpose of registering a new boiler installation and enabling guarantees and warranties. | |
3rd party sub-contractors | Whilst much of our activities are carried out by our own staff, we occasionally utilise trusted third party sub-contractors for electrical and additional heating engineering support. In all instances we will only share the minimum information needed for the engineer to engage with you to carry out the service / activity. |
Kanda - are an independent finance company that APV partner with to provide flexible payment options if you want to purchase a brand-new boiler in installments. APV will share your contact email address with Kanda if you express an interest in making a purchase in this format. We take the principles of data minimisation seriously and ensure that we only ever ask for the minimum amount of data for the associated purpose and delete that data once it is no longer required.
We ensure that your contact information is kept safe and secure and have appropriate technical and organisational security measures are in place to protect the limited amount of identifiable data that we do hold.
Where we outsource data processing, we ensure that robust and appropriate contracts are in place and of course, we excel at exacting rigorous due diligence on our suppliers.
