APV Heating Services was approached by a homeowner in Horsmonden looking to upgrade their heating system. The property was currently heated by a fully working LPG boiler, but the customer wanted to move away from LPG in favour of a more efficient and environmentally friendly solution.
Having previously owned a property with an air source heat pump, the customer was already familiar with the benefits and was keen to return to a renewable heating system.
The home had been renovated seven years earlier, and as part of that renovation the entire ground floor had been fitted with wet underfloor heating, which is ideal space heating for low-temperature systems like air source heat pumps.
The main challenge of the project was identifying a suitable location for the new unvented hot water cylinder, as no obvious plant space had been allocated during the earlier renovation.
After assessing the property and existing heating layout, we recommended installing a modern air source heat pump, perfectly matched to the underfloor heating system already in place.
Working closely with the homeowner, we identified unused space within the kitchen that could accommodate the new unvented hot water cylinder. While unconventional, this solution allowed for efficient pipework routing and optimal system performance.
Once the installation was completed and commissioned, the customer arranged for a bespoke cupboard to be built around the cylinder, ensuring it blended seamlessly into the kitchen and remained discreet.
The property now benefits from:
The customer now has a modern, energy-efficient heating system that aligns with their previous positive experience of heat pump technology and another successful installation completed by APV Heating Services.
