High-Specification Air Source Heat Pump Installation in Langton Green

The Result

The completed property now benefits from:

  • A high-performance air source heat pump system
  • Underfloor heating across the ground and first floors
  • Efficiently designed radiator heating on the top floor
  • A dedicated plant room with a neatly installed unvented cylinder
  • £7,500 in government grant support

The result is a modern, energy-efficient heating system that complements the scale and specification of this impressive new build, another successful collaboration between APV Heating Services and a trusted building partner.

The Solution

An air source heat pump was selected as the primary heat source, providing a renewable and highly efficient solution suited to the property’s modern insulation levels and underfloor heating design.

The ground and first floor underfloor heating systems were ideal for low flow temperatures, maximising the efficiency of the heat pump. The top floor radiator circuit was carefully designed and sized to operate effectively within the system’s temperature parameters.

A dedicated plant room had been incorporated into the build, allowing for the tidy installation of the heat pump controls and an unvented hot water cylinder. This ensured a clean, professional finish in keeping with the high specification of the property.

As the builder was constructing the home for his own occupation, the project qualified for the £7,500 government grant under the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, contributing significantly towards the cost of the renewable installation.

The system was installed, commissioned, and fully signed off, delivering optimal performance across all three floors.

The Challenge

APV Heating Services regularly partners with a specialist builder known for delivering large, high-specification new build homes. On this occasion, the project was the builder’s own property in Langton Green, constructed to an exceptional standard throughout.

With a substantial floor area spread over three levels, the heating system needed to provide:

  • Consistent, even heat distribution
  • High efficiency to suit modern building standards
  • Reliable hot water performance for a large family home
  • A future-proof, low-carbon solution

The ground and first floors were constructed using block and beam flooring with underfloor heating installed beneath a screeded finish. The top floor was designed with radiators. The challenge was to design a system that could efficiently serve both low-temperature underfloor heating and a radiator circuit, while maintaining overall system efficiency.
