Heat-Only Boiler to Combi Boiler Conversion in Tunbridge Wells

Having recently installed a new combi boiler in a flat in Tunbridge Wells, APV Heating Services were asked by the owner if we could also take a look at his mother's boiler in the flat directly below.

We were more than happy to help and, after inspecting the existing system, it became clear that the boiler was over 20 years old and would benefit from replacement.

The Challenge

The existing system consisted of an old heat-only boiler, located in a study, which supplied the radiators and a separate hot water cylinder.

The customer was particularly keen to get rid of the old hot water cylinder. Over the years, it had leaked on several occasions and had required numerous repairs. She wanted a simpler and more convenient solution, with hot water available directly from the new boiler rather than relying on the ageing cylinder.

The challenge was finding a suitable location for the new combi boiler in the kitchen and connecting it into the existing heating system, while also providing completely new hot and cold water connections.

Our Solution

APV Heating Services planned and installed a new combi boiler in the customer's kitchen, converting the property from its existing heat-only boiler and cylinder system.

This was a challenging installation, as the new boiler required completely new pipework and connections to the property's.

The original boiler and hot water cylinder were removed, with the existing heating pipework altered and adapted to suit the new boiler location.

Careful planning and installation were required to make everything work together neatly and efficiently within the available space.

The Result

The old boiler and troublesome hot water cylinder have now been replaced with a modern combi boiler, giving the customer hot water on demand without the need for a separate cylinder.

The customer was delighted to finally have a reliable heating and hot water system without the worry of the old cylinder leaking or requiring further repairs.
