APV Heating Services recently completed a radiator installation project in Paddock Wood, adding new radiators to all three bedrooms of a property that had previously had no bedroom heating.
The customer had lived in the property for several years without radiators in the bedrooms and wanted to improve the comfort and warmth of their home. APV Heating Services provided a competitive quotation to install three new radiators and connect them into the existing central heating system.
The project also highlighted an unexpected issue with the existing heating system, which we were able to identify and resolve while completing the radiator installation.
The property already had a radiator on the landing at the top of the stairs, but none of the three bedrooms had any radiators.
The plan was to install a new radiator in each bedroom and run new heating pipework underneath the floor to connect into the existing flow and return pipework serving the landing radiator.
This meant carefully lifting sections of flooring and carpets to install the new pipework while keeping disruption to a minimum.
One of the things that made this installation considerably easier was the preparation carried out by the customer.
The customer had done an amazing job of completely clearing the three bedrooms of furniture before we arrived. This gave our engineers much better access to the carpets and floorboards and made it considerably easier to carry out the necessary pipework installation.
It is a great example of how a little preparation before a heating installation can make a big difference to the efficiency of the job and help reduce disruption for everyone involved.
Our engineers installed three new radiators, one in each bedroom, along with all the necessary pipework.
New pipework was installed beneath the floor from each bedroom radiator and connected to the existing flow and return pipework serving the landing radiator.
Once the pipework had been installed, the new radiators were securely fitted and connected to the central heating system.
And, as it happened, this installation took place on one of the hottest days of the year!
Working under floors, lifting carpets and floorboards and installing pipework in the summer heat certainly made it a sweaty job for the APV team. We may have been installing heating, but we were certainly feeling the heat ourselves!
Once all three radiators and the new pipework had been installed, we refilled the central heating system and carefully checked the installation.
We made sure that:
During this process, we noticed that the property's existing heating expansion vessel had failed.
We explained the issue to the customer, who agreed to have the failed expansion vessel replaced while we were already on site.
APV Heating Services supplied and installed a new expansion vessel and modified the existing pipework as necessary to accommodate the replacement.
By identifying the problem while testing the heating system, we were able to resolve the issue at the same time rather than the customer potentially experiencing a heating system fault at a later date.
The completed project gave the customer something they had been missing for years – proper heating in all three bedrooms.
The installation provided:
The customer was delighted with the finished result and could finally enjoy a warmer and more comfortable home.
This Paddock Wood radiator installation involved several challenges, including:
This Paddock Wood project demonstrates how APV Heating Services can upgrade an existing heating system to provide heating in previously unheated rooms.
From installing new radiators and running completely new pipework beneath the floors to identifying and replacing a failed expansion vessel, the project was completed as one coordinated heating upgrade.
The end result was a warmer, more comfortable home and another very happy APV Heating Services customer.
